Thermoreactor – Oxidizer

A thermoreactor is an exhaust air treatment system with regenerative air preheating used for the handling and disposal of complex solvent mixtures, vapors and odorous substances. Provided with special-design quality dampers, thermoreactors guarantee the highest availability and the best performance.

Thermoreactors are suitable for all hydrocarbon compounds and when compliance with very stringent clean air standards (TA-Luft) is required (such as very low CO2 and NOx emissions). We can design units to withstand corrosive pollutants if necessary, and also allow for recuperative heat recovery of heat produced in the reactor. Even with high control, KEU thermoreactors are very efficient and deliver high availability and a long service life. For polymeric and sticky pollutants, the unit’s service life can be extended with on- or off-line burn-out.

The thermoreactor includes a reactor casing containing three or more heat exchanger sections. Depending on the intended process, ceramic heat transfer material heats the air to be treated up to a maximum of 40/50 °C below the actual reaction temperature. The energy still required for a complete oxidation either comes from the pollutants, or is supplied in the form of back-up fuel.
