Coanda Flares
Next-generation technology today
John Zink Company applies the Coanda Effect to its Kaldair® flare systems
for a whole new dimension in ultra-clean, ultra-efficient flaring and outstanding
performance. The Coanda effect is a gas-adhesion principle that dramatically
enhances the combustion process, resulting in maximum destruction of waste
gases.
Here's how it works.
The Coanda Effect proves that a gas jet passed over a carefully profiled, curved surface will adhere to that surface, creating a near vacuum that pulls in substantial amounts of air. The air turbulently mixes with the gas flow, resulting in high-efficient combustion. John Zink applies the Coanda Effect to its Kaldair flare tip designs to harness the natural energy in relief gases, which eliminates operator need for additional system components.
Coanda Flares
- Kaldair Multipoint Indair (KMI) - Uses multiple, small-diameter variable slot tulip-shaped flares to provide a rugged design for low-radiation, 100% smokeless flaring.
- Kaldair Indair - Proven technology provides smokeless, low radiation flaring of high-pressure gases for single-point flares.
- Kaldair Mardair - Provides ultra-low radiation flaring of high-pressure gases with reduced noise and a short flame length.
- Kaldair Condair - Smokeless, low radiation flaring of liquid hydrocarbons in a mixed phase flare burner.
- Kaldair Stedair - Uses the unique Coanda-based steam injection system for smokeless flaring, high-steam efficiency, low noise and ultra-long tip life.
