SoundProof ®
Flare-pilot
verification is an increasingly important and often mandatory requirement
for today's flare systems. Remote location and inaccessibility during
flare operation make pilot-flame verification a challenge. Furthermore,
the common flare pilot-monitoring systems, such as thermocouples and infrared
monitors, are plagued with accessibility and dependability problems.
In response to industry demands for a reliable and accessible flare pilot-monitoring
technology, John Zink Company introduces SoundProof®
- a revolutionary flare-pilot monitor.
Upon exploring the flame-product characteristics of heat, ionized gas,
light and sound, John Zink developed SoundProof to remotely detect
the pilot flame with sound generation. The SoundProof pilot monitor
consists of an acoustic sensor and a signal processor. The acoustic
sensor receives pilot sounds through the flame front generator line.
The acoustic data are conveyed from the sensor to the signal processor.
The signal processor then analyzes the acoustic data and signals
the pilot flame status - either on or off.
Features and Benefits
- Able to be installed during flare operation
- Differentiates one pilot from another
- Differentiates pilot from main flame
- Unaffected by weather
- Can be maintained during flare operation
