Benefits

The following benefits represent those offered in the United States. Contact John Zink Company's human resource representative to learn about the John Zink benefits in your community.

All full-time John Zink Company employees are eligible to participate in the Benefits Program - beginning on the first day of the month following their date of employment. The Benefits Program offers the following plans:

Note: The information provided below is an overview of current benefits only. All benefits are provided in accordance with the provisions of the benefit plan documents.

Medical

There are currently three medical plan options from which to choose. Each plan has a different monthly cost and deductible to match your needs.

Where possible, John Zink Company participates in Preferred Provider Organizations (PPOs) to help control costs for you and the plan. You will receive a PPO directory if a preferred provider is available where you live.

Dental

There are also three dental plan options from which to choose. Each plan has a different monthly cost and covered expenses to match your needs. Orthodontics are included in two of the plan options.

Employee Life Insurance (Primary and Voluntary)

  • Primary
    5 options of coverage are available. All but one option are multiples of your base salary
  • Voluntary
    You must elect the maximum coverage allowable under the Primary Life to be eligible for this coverage.

Dependent Life Insurance

You must be participating in Primary Life Insurance to elect this coverage. There are three (3) coverage options:

  • Spouse only
  • Child(ren) only
  • Spouse and Child(ren)

Short Term/Long Term Disability

Short Term Disability

Benefits begin on the later of:

  • the day after you have used all of your accrued sick leave
  • the 8th calendar day of absence

Long Term Disability

Benefits begin on the 181st day of a qualifying disability and are payable for the duration of your disability based on the schedule in your Benefits Notebook.

Pre-Tax Contribution (Section 125)

This plan allows you to pay your contributions to participate in John Zink Company Medical and/or Dental plans with pre-tax dollars by reducing your pay by the amount of your contribution and having your Employer use those funds to pay your portion of the contributions.

Reimbursement Accounts

Health Care Reimbursement Account

This account may be used by you and your family for a wide range of most typical health care expenses, including items not covered under the Medical and Dental Plans.

Dependent Care Reimbursement Account

This account may be used for qualifying child care and/or day care for dependent adults.

401(k) Savings

Full-time employees are eligible to participate in the savings plan at time of hire. Most employees may contribute 1% up to 19% of gross pay. After an employee's first year of full-time service, the company matches contributions dollar for dollar up to 6%. Accounts are vested at the rate of 20% per year of service. There are multiple investment options from which to select.

Accidental Death and Dismemberment

Insurance Benefits are payable for death and certain other types of losses, if they result from and occur within one year of a covered accident.

Business Travel Accident Insurance

John Zink Company provides a Business Travel Accident policy which covers all full-time employees of the Company for covered injury sustained while traveling on John Zink business.

Educational Assistance

Full-time employees with at least 1 year of service are eligible to receive a reimbursement from John Zink Company to help defray the costs associated with their continuing education.

Qualifying dependents of John Zink Company employees are eligible to apply for an academic college scholarship. The dependent must be enrolled as a full-time student and not be over 21 years of age. The employee must have been employed full-time for at least 1 year. Selection is made based on grade point averages, ACT/SAT scores, honors, character and personality from reference letters and activities.

Holidays

The company provides 10 paid holidays per year, 9 of which are fixed holidays, and 1 which is a floating holiday set by John Zink.

Pension Plan

Employees become eligible for participation in the pension plan on the first of the month following one year of service in which they work at least 1,000 hours. The plan is funded by the Company with no contribution required from the participants.
